Social, Interpersonal and Business Cycle Theories of Suicide

Abstract

Suicide is one of social problems focused by theorists in all fields of social sciences. This article is collection of social, psychological and economic theories which explains the occurrence of suicide. In this regard, the theory of Emile Durkheim, Joiner, Ginsberg theory of suicide and Henry and Short’s theory of suicide are mentioned whereby each theory explains suicide from a different viewpoint. This article is based on review method whereby numerous sources have been cited in order to present theories in scientific manner.
